Lemon Bars

I have recently become a huge apron fan. I'm tired of ruining my clothes in the kitchen !
I found this darling apron at TJ Maxx last week. It's feminine, flirty and I can't wait to wear it while I'm making Thanksgiving dinner ! { I tried it on for Mr.B and all I can say is I think I blushed ! } At least I can feel pretty while I cook !!
I love this color combo !

Introducing my Frugalicious Friday find !
{ TJ Maxx apron, $7.99 }
I had a hankering for something sweet & tart, so I made lemon bars. I didn't have time to whip out my kitchen aide so I made this standby when I have zero time, but need a dessert.

I use Krusteaz Lemon Bar Mix. ( and NO, I did not get paid to review this product. It's just a box in my pantry that I've been using for years )

Follow instructions on the box and Just add the juice of 1 fresh lemon... and it is sooo good ! I keep a box in my pantry for unexpected company, or when I'm in the mood for something sweet but don't want to mess the kitchen !

{Also participating in Blue Monday over at Smiling Sally's !}

Oh, what a precious apron! And a GREAT price, too! You will be the hostess with the mostest when you wear that in your kitchen.

I'm glad to know about those lemon squares. I love lemon squares, and I bought the mix once upon a time but chickened out and did the long recipe. Thanks for letting us know it's good. Next time, I'm going to go that route! :-)

Happy Blue Monday...

XO,

Sheila :-)

Nice apron and I agree about the color combo. Krusteaz is a very good product to keep on hand. Anything I've made of theirs has turned out well.

OMigsoh... what a steal on that apron. I seriously LOVE it. And those lemon bars look yummy, too. My mom and sister, Brittany, make them...but I have never done it. maybe a box is the way I can fit it in today. :)

Lemon Bars!!!!
O my, I want to reach out and take a bite.
I love them. I love them. Did I say that I love them?

Merisi said...

P.S.:
I forgot (those lemon bars!) to mention that I have been an apron wearer since childhood. As soon as I enter the kitchen, I reach automatically for my apron. I am still wearing the aprons I bought at William Sonoma's when I moved from the States - they are indistructible and so comfortable.

I have never seen one as pretty as the one you got at TJMaxx (one more thing to miss from the States!). I tried to figure out how you'd wear them, but couldn't. Would you ever consider showing us how?

Love your apron. Looks like a dress. Thanks for the tip on Lemon Bars. Love them, but don't want to make them from scratch. Your idea to add fresh lemon juice to the boxed mix makes it "semi-homemade!"

That's a great apron for $7.99! Sometimes aprons are so pretty, I wish they'd throw a back on those things and make them a dress!

Your Apron is Fabulous...I love it! Oh and I have to say that lemon bars are one of my favorite desserts too! Thanks for linkin' up to Frugalicious Friday!

I like Krusteaz mixes very much but I have a really easy recipe for lime bars on my blog. Check it out. I think you will like it. Almost as easy as the box mix. You could use lemon or lime, doesn't matter.
